Medical Devices Production Manager

Location: Deeside

Type: Permanent

Our Client, a UK -wide Medical Devices company are looking to recruit for an experienced Medical Devices Production Manager; this Manager will lead the manufacturing facility of this new plant and ensure that (phone number removed) - GMP standards are adhered to at all times… working closely with the sister site with various departments (R&D, Engineering, QA, RA etc) to produce the best products at all times.

The Role

Develop and validate new production processes to manufacture the Clients newly designed medical devices, in close corporation with the R&D and Process Development
Maintain all production processes to manufacture Client's medical devices ensuring calibration, maintenance, validation, specifications and risk assessments are all kept up to date
Manage all production lines to manufacture product consistent with the product specifications, using approved methods, processes and procedures, in compliance with the appropriate standards and requirements according to Client's QMS and its Health and Safety Procedures
Site-management of all owned manufacturing sites including buildings, equipment, maintenance, infrastructure and disaster recover protocols
Approve and manage external suppliers to ensure supply of raw materials, components and finished products appropriate to the demands of the business
Manage inventory levels to deliver excellent "OnTimeDelivery" performance to customers, whilst minimising inventory costs
Monitor the production processes, drawing up and manage production schedule based on current and future demand
Development and reporting of relevant production Key Performance Indicators, setting the quality standards, manage production budgets
Develop production scale-up strategies and develop sustainable COGS (Cost Of Goods Sold) models, in close corporation with R&D
Management of the manufacturing sites operations teams, including day to day mentoring, identification of training, performance monitoring and reviews and setting clear objectives/expectations;
Liaising among different departments, working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals;
Ensure operations staff, equipment and facilities are efficiently utilised, implementing cost control programs;

The Person:

Will hold a Degree in a Scientific or related/ technical Engineering discipline; a good understanding of engineering principles is required to understand the complex medical devices being manufactured
5-10 years' experience in general production management in Medical Devices
Thorough knowledge of applicable medical devices quality systems and standards, specifically ISO13485and 21CFR820
Strong management experience
