Graduate / PA /Carer / Support Worker to History and English Literature Student - Cardiff
About our Client
Our client is a first-year student, studying for history and english literature degree at Cardiff University. He has a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. He is a fan of wrestling and on occasions attends live performances. In addition, the client is a marvel movie fan and particularly likes ant-man and the wasp. Additionally, the client has a passion for the link between history and literature.
With a joyful and delightful persona, as well as a good sense of humour, our client enjoys going out to socialise and meet up with friends and family.
About the Job

You will provide our client's academic support and health and social care. This is also a "flatmate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you'd expect a first-year university student to be doing, like getting out and about to see friends, going to parties, the cinema, going on holiday and much more!
Weekly live-in rota: 7 days on and 7 days off or similar arrangement.
Live-in PA's use the flexible working arrangements that come with the week on/week off set up, to travel abroad or visit friends throughout the year. The combination of this, with the knowledge that they are having a positive, daily impact on someone's life, and the relaxed, inclusive working environment makes this a unique and exciting opportunity.
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
Free accommodation in halls is provided when you are on shift.
You must hold a full clean UK driving licence as you will be driving our client's adapted car.
Start Date: September 2019.
Pay & Benefits
Live In - £100 per day / £700 per week
1 week on 1 week off
Free accommodation and bills when on shift.
5.6 week's holiday pro-rata.
About You
You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care, therefore, full training in his particular needs is provided.
You will need: -
·To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
·Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
·To have a good sense of humour
·A mature and responsible attitude
·Good communication skills
·To be fluent in English.
·To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.
·To be a non-smoker
·A full clean UK driving licence
