Support Worker working with Children: Special Needs School
Location: Thornbury, North Bristol
Salary: £17,675 - £20,200 per annum - dependant upon relevant experience and qualifications
Full Time Contract: 79 hours over a two week shift, 8:30pm - 7:30am, may include some weekend nights
Shift Times: 8:30pm - 8:00am

We are currently recruiting for the right person to join a team of Waking Night Support Workers where you will be assisting House Coordinators and Team Leaders in their role.
The School has a Good OFSTED rating and is keen to improve to the next step and with your help, this could happen. As well as being committed to strong academic progress, they also believe in a vision of holistic education, care and therapy.
This is a full time permanent position paying up to £20,200 per annum where you will also be enrolled on the NVQ Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma.
Responsibilities of the Support Worker :

* Liaise with the House Coordinator and Team Leaders when necessary
* Inform senior staff of significant events such as illness, incidents, accidents and concerns
* Organise leisure and free time activities for pupils
* Order and purchase food as well as other household supplies according to budgets
* Managing pupils personal allowance
* Household duties which may also include personal care
* Taking part in weekly meetings
* Participate in Festivals and Community activities Person Specification for the Support Worker :

* Previous experience of working with Children or Adults with Learning Difficulties
* Flexible to work shift patterns
* Effective time management
* Ability to work as a team as well as on your own
* Excellent communication skills
* Previous experience working with Challenging Behaviour Additional information for the Support Worker:
