This is a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Consultant to join this successful and expanding company who are going through a period of sustained growth. The Business Development Consultant will be the key commercial contact for potential customers, generating new opportunities and delivering proposals, both over the phone and face to face.

Working as part of a fast-paced and motivated business development team, you will be key to ensuring that the company builds upon their success by building a diverse and profitable base of customers. To apply for the Business Development Consultant it is essential that you have previous business-to-business experience, ideally within an IT, technical or telecommunications environment. You will be able to sell multiple products and solutions to customers ranging from sole traders through to international PLCs.The Business Development Consultant will have exceptional sales and business development skills, covering the whole sales cycle from lead generation and initial needs assessment, through to contract negotiation and closing the sale.

Key Responsibilities:

* Gaining deep insight to understand a potential customer's business and their plans on how technical solutions will aid their own growth and development plans
* Generate opportunities from calling data as well as leads supplied from colleagues
* Gain referrals and leads for additional products and services
* Ensure all quotations and proposals are sent in a professional manner and timescale, agreed with the potential customer
* Ensure our customers are delighted with all aspects of our service and commercial proposition
* Attend client meetings when necessary
* The role will flex with the needs of your customers and the ever-changing technical world in which the company operate, so the ability to cope with constant change is a must
* Making sure CRM system is updated accurately and consistently
* Achieve personal and team targets and Key Performance Indicators
* To ensure you attend all training modules on all aspects of products and services to ensure you can identify opportunities when speaking to customers. You must become conversant in all products and services and an expert on technical solutions
* To clearly demonstrate your ability to build a pipeline of opportunity in accordance with your targets

Essential Skills:

* Business development experience is essential, ideally within an IT, technical or telecommunications environment
* Experience of the full sales process - discovering needs; building trust and relationships; negotiation skills; closing skills
* The ability to quickly learn the technical knowledge of all products and services and how they benefit clients
* Understanding of the specific marketplace, competitor activity, alternative products and industry developments
* Be able to manage own time and workload/ workflow effectively
* Demonstrate communication and influencing skills
* Time management skills
* Confident when dealing with difficult situations/people
* Do the best job you can, going the extra mile for customers and the business and being proud of it
* Act with honesty and integrity, stick to what you say you'll do
* Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure zero confusion
