Acorn Recruitment is searching for a SMT Operator to join a company in the Newport area who will be responsible for the output and quality levels of designated production lines.

The salary for this role is £16,823.62. Work shifts will rotate morning and afternoons. Shift allowances are currently 20% for mornings, 22% for afternoons and 33% for nights.

Key responsibilities:

•Ensuring all paperwork is at an acceptable level.

•Meeting hourly production targets and monitor and report accordingly.

•Ensuring quality is at the required IPC model standard.

•Ensuring housekeeping is at a high standard.

•Meeting ESD requirements.

•Meeting Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.

•Ensuring all TTims departmental procedures is being adhered to.

•Day to day control of kitting and material flow through department.

•Attending daily production (Team Brief) meetings when required.

•Communicating well and working as part of a team.

•Putting information onto the quality data base when required.

•Understanding product MI / QI and implement function.

•Print and label printed circuit boards.

•Ensuring compliance with company codes of conduct.

•Undertaking responsibilities as defined by the production Team Leader.

•Changing over machines in the required KPI target.

•Monitoring ppm on an hourly bases to achieve KPI target.

•Carrying out paste checks on a change over or every 3 hours.

•Carrying out feeder maintenance when required.

•Assisting Technician / Engineer on major breakdowns when required.

•Carrying out first off checks when required.

•Assisting Technician / Engineer on maintenance when required.

Core requirements:

•To achieve and maintain the set KPI targets.

•To achieve and maintain acceptable quality levels, always striving for zero defects.

•Ability to read working instructions and drawings.

•Capable of communicating process issues and suggest improvements.

Desirable skills and experience:

•Ideally IPC 610 Certified.
