We have an opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join our new Floating Support Service in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

This job is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 36 hours per week. The hourly rate is £10.00 from 31st March 2019.

Reporting to the Senior Support Worker you will provide a support service for people who use Hafod services and who have a variety of support needs including: adults with mental health issues; young people; older people; people with a physical disability or chronic illness.

You will provide housing related support to tenants either in supported housing or in their own homes, supporting people to maintain their accommodation and achieve independent living. This will include assisting social inclusion, support to manage their tenancies/accommodation, budgeting, accessing education, training and employment, increasing awareness of their community and improving skills to live independently.

You will have demonstrable experience as a support worker and be able to use your initiative to deal with a range of situations that may present, reporting and escalating as required.

Experience of working with people with any or all of the following criteria: Mental Health, Young People, Physical Disability and Older People is essential in order to be considered for this position.

A qualification in Social Care or related discipline is desirable.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage your time. You will have the ability to remain calm in a changing environment and be able to work flexibly when required.

A full, current driving licence and use of a car is essential.
