Global Supply Chain Manager

Whey Forward Health Industrial Ltd – Cardiff

We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to optimise our organisation’s global supply chain and logistics and help drive extensive and sustainable growth of our rapidly-scaling consumer products business. If you are a highly analytical, solution orientated and growth-focused individual, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our dynamic Cardiff-based team.

The Supply Chain Manager role is a pivotal member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the CEO and the board. You will have to maintain control of diverse business operations, including global supply chain & logistics, procurement, and manufacturing. We expect you to be an experienced and efficient leader and able to work autonomously with the power to make swift strategic decisions. You will also have excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics.

Duties:

  • Managing procurement and supply chain across multiple product ranges, suppliers and territories;
  • Managing domestic and overseas production, working directly with our manufacturing partners and Chinese representatives to optimise quality control and production lead times;
  • Implementing lean management procedures to minimise stock holding and free up working capital;
  • Ensuring all contracts are optimised and up to date with suppliers, partners and manufacturers;
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline business processes and systems and restructuring business activities to increase speed and efficiency;
  • Researching opportunities for cost savings across the business and minimising operation expenditure wherever possible;
  • Providing ongoing support for the implementation and optimisation of new company ERP system;
  • Defining performance management KPI’s to monitor operational success against objectives;
  • Reporting to the board on supply chain activities towards business goals;
  • Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement.

Key attributes required:

  • Proven experience within a senior supply chain role, ideally within a consumer products/FMCG business, operating internationally;
  • Understanding of operational systems and procedures within a retail/wholesale organisation;
  • Commercial awareness with an eye for seeing business improvement opportunities;
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics;
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office;
  • Excellent analytical and organisation skills with ability to prioritise workload;
  • Sound influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Outstanding leadership and motivational abilities;
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Highly motivated with a passion for driving operational business change.
