We are looking for a team leader at one of our small residential care homes in Cardiff to help oversee the provision of excellent holistic care, promoting the well-being of individuals and supporting them to make their own choices and decisions to the maximum of their capability.

You will be supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems, some of whom can display challenging behaviours. The role can be demanding but is always immensely rewarding.

Applicants must be over 21 years old in line with CIW requirements.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Oversee, support and mentor junior members of staff; carry out supervisions and appraisals for which training and support will be available.

Along with the manager, take responsibility for rota planning, ensuring that there are sufficient staff available at all times with the correct skills, gender mix and experience for the activities planned.

Participate in the assessment, development, implementation and review of service user care plans and risk assessments. Make sure accidents and incidents are documented and reported by staff in line with policy and regulations. Administer medication as prescribed and in accordance with company policy.

Make sure the needs of the individuals we care for and support are at the centre of everything we do. Support them in making their own choices and decisions to the maximum of their capability, and ensure that their needs and wishes are fully considered in any decision relating to them.

Oversee correct ordering, auditing and storing of medication and COSHH products in accordance with GCCL policies and procedures. Carry out any other administration duties in line with the role
