Care Team Leader

LOCATION: Within the care establishments of Gofal Cymru Care

RESPONSIBLE TO: Care Home Manager

SALARY: £18,000 - £22,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)

HOURS: Agreed contracted hours, to include evenings, week-ends, bank holidays, overnight wake-in and sleep-in duties and on-call, for which an extra payment will be made.

To provide a support led service to adults with complex mental health and learning disabilities by adopting a person centred approach that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.

As a Team Leader for Gofal Cymru Care you will lead a team of Senior and Support Worker in one of our care homes with the opportunity to work across the Cardiff and Vale area to support and encourage individuals to achieve their full potential whilst promoting their choices and well-being.



  • Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model at all times.
  • Manage rotas on a daily basis.
  • Lead the shift, ensuring staff give support that follows individual’s care plans and daily support plans.
  • Provide effective supervision to the Seniors and Support Workers on your team.
  • Provide on call cover as arranged by the Care Home Manager.
  • Ensure good team working.
  • Motivate, support and mentor the staff when needed.
  • At each shift ensure staff complete all necessary paperwork to an acceptable standard and sign off.

Care Duties

  • The role is to work as part of a team providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and / or mental health needs
  • To give compassionate support, practical help, personal care and support individuals who are unable to meet their own needs and require support with personal and daily living tasks in accordance with the service users requirements
  • To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the individual using a person centred approach.
  • To observe and promote our service user’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights.
  • To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations along with Gofal Cymru Care’s policies, procedure and guidelines.

Domestic Duties

  • To support individuals in preparing their food, drink and refreshments
  • To support individuals with their domestic duties has agreed e.g., laundry, general cleaning
  • Undertake shopping and community participation activities

General Duties

  • Maintain accurate records
  • Participate in training, meetings
  • To co-operate with Gofal Cymru Care in complying with health and safety procedures in the performance of your duties.
  • To behave in accordance with the company’s values
  • To carry out any other duties reasonably falling within the purview of the post as maybe required.
