Working as part of an established development team, we're looking for a lead (or someone who can step up and be a lead!!) . Someone who can thrive using agile methods and enjoy working openly and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to steer the modernisation of existing services, as well as the build of new products that will transform how the organisation works.

There's a great opportunity here to learn a wide range of new technologies and approaches, whether it be on the job, through conference attendance or training courses. Working alongside user researchers, UX designers, product owners, architects and analysts, you will inspire people to deliver technical vision.

The tech lead will drive a digital transform and collaborate with a team from a DevOps culture we're open to people who want to learn and its doesn't matter so much where you come from background wise as the current team use technologies such as Java, Python, R, SAS, Node, Go, Ruby and Scala as well as Data tools, such as Sqoop, HDFS, Elastic Search, Spark and Kibana.

Project work really could be within a range of areas for example one team is enhancing critical systems using Java, Oracle and SAS but they're looking to utilize R and Python another team are investigating options to transition to an intermediate processing platform on the strategic technology stack, which includes Python (+ Django framework), Scala, Spark, HDFS and the Cloudera environment.

Responsibilities will be really varied however will include -
* Driving digital transformation working alongside a Delivery Manager to deliver using agile
* Coaching others in technology approaches and career development.
* Pioneering new methods and forming standards and policies.
* Quickly research and learn new programming languages, tools and techniques and evaluate their operational and strategic fit.

The most important thing to remember is that we're looking for people who've worked in a range of different technical areas and be confident in the design and architecture of a wide range of technology products.
