Pobl Care & Support in Caerphilly offers supported living to a number of people living in their own homes. You will be working a shift pattern on a two week rolling rota, consisting of days/afternoons and mid-shifts.

What will you do?

This position is for 20.5 hours per week.

You will be supporting people who have various needs, to live an independent and fulfilling life. You will be involved in supporting them throughout the day, which can include personal hygiene, self care, and food preparation. You will be carrying out various duties which will include supporting people to access the local community and completing various paperwork.

As part of a team you will be expected to work closely with your colleagues and support each other and also be able to work solo and be able to make decisions and be able to think on your feet. You will need to be flexible at all times to suit the needs of the clients and the team. You will also be expected to keep accurate and timely records, as well as develop positive relationships with the people you are supporting and their family members.

Who are we looking for?

A driving licence is crucial for the role as all the people supported have their own mobility vehicles.

A background of working with people who are autistic and have profound learning disabilities is desirable. You will also be required to have training in positive behaviour theory and epilepsy. More importantly we are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for caring. We appreciate good work ethics, as well as positive attitudes and behaviours. With your genuine love of care, we can provide you with all the tools you’ll need. We tailor your development dependant on current skills and experience through our comprehensive employment training, induction and ongoing structured support. As part of a team, you’ll have the support of your peers as well as a Manager at all times. With all of the above, your confidence and competency will grow within the role.
