3rd Line Infrastructure Support Analyst - Cardiff

Our client, a leading employer for South Wales, are looking to recruit an experienced 3rd Line Desktop and Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their team.

You will be working within a dynamic and highly technical team in an agile framework using relevant toolsets. A key element of this role will be liaising with The Service Desk, Project Teams as well as IT Framework Partners providing appropriate assistance, guidance and technical solutions within the ITIL process around the systems you will support.

At least 2 years' 3rd Line Level Support experience (including some good knowledge of large Data Centre Infrastructure, Architecture and Service Provision), desktop products and associated infrastructure is needed in most of the following ideally:

- Windows 2003/2008/2012 Server
- Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Skype/Teams
- Microsoft SCOM
- Citrix XenApp 5 & above with provisioning services
- Active Directory, File & Print, DHCP, DNS
- VMware 4 and above

Typical responsibilities for this role will include:

- Assisting in managing internal and external ICT partners to ensure that implementation of any new technologies fits into existing services & infrastructure
- Being responsible for assisting with maintenance of all technologies
- Producing documentation to support systems.
- Improving and maintaining effective monitoring and alerting (e.g. SNMP) for all systems in your area of responsibility.
- Carrying out mentoring for Tier 2 and Service Desk
- Ensuring security updates and system patches are maintained for all underlying desktop service systems under your responsibility.
- Ensuring compliance with change & release management procedures for all work carried out.

We feel this role should be commutable from Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Cwmbran, Rhondda, Merthyr, Barry, Bridgend, Port Talbot and Swansea.
