We are looking for a Fire Safety Lead who will help ensure we are compliant and to keep our people safe.

How can I make a difference?

The Compliance Teams role is to manage and maintain all buildings and estates owned by the group in accordance with both statutory requirements and corporate policies and procedures.

The Fire Safety Lead will help ensure our built assets and estates comply with Statutory Health and Safety Regulations to keep tenants, staff and contractors healthy and safe.

Responsible for the statutory compliance oversight for Fire Risk and Safety ensuring that risk to our customers and their homes is reduced and/or managed effectively.

The Fire Safety Lead will manage a small team consisting of a Fire Safety Surveyor & two inspectors, to ensure effective use of resources, excellent service delivery and provision of data and information to senior management, and health and safety forums.

Duties will include the management of inspection and testing regimes, risk management, creation and supervision of safe working practices, contract management and procurement of services, compliance data management, property compliance monitoring and reporting, and the provision of support and advice to internal teams, internal and external contractors and partners.

This role is responsible for the delivery and management of actions arising from the Fire Risk Assessment programme, and will develop and deliver a planned programme of Fire Risk Assessments, remedial works on time and to budget. The Fire Safety Lead will set resident communication strategies in place and monitoring compliance by contractors.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of Fire safety and the importance of building compliance and the work that we do. You must be a team player able to support the other members of the Compliance Team. Experienced in managing multiple tasks at any given time, organisational skills and an ability to prioritise are key. We are looking for someone who is customer focused and understands the importance of keeping people safe in their homes.

You must hold a relevant professional qualification e.g. Certificate in Applied Fire Risk Assessment or can demonstrate significant experience in Fire Safety Management, and you must be able to evidence any professional and specialist technical skills relating to Fire Safety Management with a detailed knowledge of current regulations and best practice.

We are looking for someone with great leadership skills. You must be able to demonstrate effective management of HHSRS issues, be a point of contact for internal teams and local authorities. In addition, you need to evidence successful management of non-conformances raised as part of the oversight function.
