You are likely to currently be a Buyer with strong Purchasing experience gained in an Engineering or manufacturing environment

Create and maintain cost estimates for the machine shop manufactured components. Participating in internal contract reviews to ensure correct assessment of both customer needs and internal capabilities are aligned. You must be able to read Engineering drawings. Estimating general costings via interpretation of engineering drawings supplied by each customer in conjunction with internal data system. Working as part of the team led by the Business Development Manager and the Operations Manager. Document creation and management.
Costing / Engineering experience min of 3 years machine shop/Toolroom manufacturing or similar environment.
Technical Estimator will provide full cost estimates to sales & quotations team.
-Creation/maintenance of files from initial requests from customers using our internal data system Javelin

-Assessment of customer requirements which will include raw material, machining & subcontract operations

-Confirmation costs with material suppliers of specialised specifications via detailed customer plans

-Liaise with all internal / external personnel to obtain a clear understanding of required processes

- Active contribution to plant goals and strategy.

- Ability to act tactfully with customers, suppliers, inter-group and internal departments.

- Understanding of customer requirements / expectations.

- Health & Safety.
Knowledge of production systems and relevant process flow.
Qualifications/education/membership required: Costings Coordinator
- PC Literate (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Outlook, etc.)
- Costing / Engineering experience min of 3 years machine shop/Toolroom manufacturing or similar environment.
- Well rounded engineering background especially with process concepts and documentation.
Role may suit a Costings Engineer or Costings Administrator, Quotations, Costing Technician
Travel to work from Pontypridd, Cardiff, Bridgend, Merthyr, Newport, Caerphilly
