What is special about this opportunity?

Our project is a purpose built five bungalow development in central Llanelli for younger adults with physical disabilities. Staff are based in the scheme 24 hours a day where they play a significant role in supporting our clients to overcome any challenges that they may encounter and help them to live as independently as possible.

Working as part of our team you will be genuinely making a difference to the lives of people who use our services. You will be supporting people to lead full, independent and happy lives, in the safe and comfortable environment of their own homes.

Our service users rely on our support for many reasons and our client group includes individuals who need help and support with every days tasks.

These posts are for 24 hours per week

*This post carries an Occupational Requirement exception under the Equality Act 2010 and is open to females only.

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

How can I make a difference?

As a Support Worker you will be involved in day-to-day support including;

* Providing personal care
* Supporting people to live every day lives
* Support, prompting and administering medication
* Meal preparation
* Social activities
* Providing social and emotional support
* Shopping and domestic duties such as laundry and general housekeeping tasks
* Undertake relevant training for the role
* Transporting clients in their own vehicles

Who are we looking for?

Our Support Workers will posses:

* A genuine desire to help people and make a difference
* Have an understanding of the challenges that many of our service users face
* Keen listening and communication skills
* Empathy, compassion and a caring nature
* Flexibility including working some evenings/ bank holidays, sleep-ins and weekends
* Respect, integrity and dignity for our client groups
* A non-judgmental approach to providing care and support.
* A current driving license and your own transport as this position will involve travelling.
