Rents and Billing Officer

Location: Cardiff

Hours: 37 per week

Fixed-term contract to 20th December 2019

Salary: Band F £26,383 - £29,220 per annum

The Opportunity

We are excited to offer a new opportunity to supervise our Rents and Billings team. Maintaining accurate and live rent account information is pivotal to the service we provide to our residents, both helping to ensure debts are recovered effectively and that the right conversations are had to help residents to manage their finances.

Joining a welcoming and helpful team, you will have strong organisational skills and a close attention to detail. Having had previous experience working within a Finance department you will be able to drive, co-ordinate and supervise all processes within the Rents and Billings team to achieve a ‘real time’ snapshot of each resident account balance within the Association’s Resident Ledger.   

You will be able to quickly identify any account anomalies and have both the initiative and desire to find solutions and take remedial action quickly. You will be proactive in your communication with both your team and other departments within the Association.

A born organiser, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of the Association’s annual rent increase process ensuring that the correct new rents are applied to the relevant resident accounts and all letters are issued with accurate information within required notice periods. You will also be the main point of contact for communicating all annual rent and service charge increases for all residents in receipt of Housing Benefit or Universal Credit to each Local Authority or the Department of Work & Pensions.

You will have had experience of working with financial software and be a proficient user of Excel spreadsheets, especially in use of pivot tables and lookup formulae.

You will enjoy working within a team environment and will value your role both within your immediate team and the wider Association team to deliver the best possible service to our residents.
