Maintenance Technician

£9,005.50 per annum - working 2 days per week on a Tuesday and Thursday

Fixed term position for 2 years

Plus benefits and company transit van

Building on our reputation as leaders in the field of high quality social housing, affordable home ownership, care schemes and nursing homes for older people, Linc is continuing its rapid growth. We currently have a number of extraCare, sheltered homes, 3 nursing homes, 2 enterprise businesses and our head office based on Newport Road, Cardiff, all requiring general maintenance support. This role forms part of a job share within our Asset Management team to ensure our continuing high quality maintenance programme and support is delivered.

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Officer within the repairs team, you will travel between our various properties, liaising closely with the onsite scheme managers and maintenance officers, identifying and carrying out general maintenance tasks and repairs as required.

You will need a good eye for detail as you will be required to identify works that need repair or redecoration and carry these works out with minimum supervision. No two days will be the same and you will need to be flexible, highly organised, possess good all round handy person skills with knowledge and experience of ‘basic DIY’, minor repairs, basic decoration touch ups and health and safety equipment testing. You will also ensure we hold adequate stock levels of maintenance materials.

Good communication and people skills are vital as you will liaise with scheme managers, the maintenance manager and the team as well as external contractors and residents. You will receive a full induction to support you in this role.

We offer great benefits, together with the use of a company transit van, therefore you will need a full driving licence. Please note that this position is on a fixed term basis for 2 years and will be part of a job share where you will be working 2 days per week on a Tuesday and Thursday.

The closing date for application forms is 23:59 on 16th September 2018.

Interviews will take place on 18th and/or 19th September 2018.

Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment with Linc will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). (Formerly known as CRB Check).
