Support Worker - Llandrindod Wells

What is special about this opportunity?

You will have an opportunity to join our team of support staff across the Mid Powys Hub. The Hub consists of projects providing temporary accommodation and housing related support. You will be based at Gwynfa in Llandrindod Wells which is a 24/7 project providing housing related support to people living in temporary accommodation. We also provide a Floating Support and Drop-in service across the Mid Powys Locality. You will be able to develop your networking skills by working closely with the Local Authority, Probation Services, Mental Health Services and other providers to ensure the best possible support for customers accessing housing related support.

This is a permanent post at 36 hours per week.

The role involves working on a rota system and covering sleep-in shifts.

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

How can I make a difference?

You will be responsible for all aspects of Housing related support to tenants in our static supported accommodation as well as providing support to floating support and drop in customers across the locality. Liaison with relevant providers throughout the locality is key to ensure the best possible outcome in meeting what matters to our customers and to ensure that they can secure and maintain accommodation, financial control and physical and emotional wellbeing.

Who are we looking for?

* You will need to be creative and innovative in your approach to working with the clients to understand what matters to them.
* You will be motivated with experience of developing and supporting individuals with Housing Related Support.
* You will be confident in building relationships with housing and other relevant agencies to secure opportunities for our customers.
* You will need the skills and abilities to work with and relate to people who are often disadvantaged and marginalised. You will motivate, empower and enable them to make informed choices and positive changes to their lives so they feel safe and ‘live their life their way’.
* You will need to be able to manage your own workload, work effectively alone and as a part of a team.
* You will need to be willing to travel and visit various services throughout Mid Powys Hub and surrounding areas. It is essential that you have use of a car for this role.
