What is special about this opportunity?

You will have an opportunity to work with young people who are at the start of their journey to independence. This service will support young people moving on directly from residential care settings. These young people often have complex needs and can engage in risky behaviours such as substance misuse and self-harm. They can be experiencing mental health issues and may have difficult or no family relationships. Whilst transitioning into independence is an exciting time in their lives, it brings many challenges particularly for this group of young people who may not have the support networks or skills to successfully negotiate all the demands of successful independent living.

You will encourage the people we support to deal with issues that may threaten their homes including improving budgeting skills, addressing debts, maximising income through appropriate benefits or entering employment, life skills and household management, accessing support with alcohol or substance misuse, mental and physical health and anti-social behaviour.

This is a permanent post.

The actual salary for the role is £8,287 based on the 16 hours per week.

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
