Job Description – support workers within Cardiff

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers in Cardiff to support children with additional needs.

About us: With your help we support children of all abilities to access everyday community activities.

You will be expected to work after school (from 3.00pm onwards) and on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a 0 hour contract so flexibility is a must.

Applicants must be over 18 years old, no experience necessary as full training will be given.

You will also be expected to drive so a full license is necessary.

We are looking for support workers with:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of the issues people with disabilities face
  • An ability to promote choice and independence
  • An ability to communicate well
  • A natural aptitude to work on your own initiative
  • Sign language skills and/or Welsh language skills is an advantage, but not essential.
  • A calm, fun and approachable personality.

We expect commitment, understanding and professionalism from our support staff. In return, they receive accredited training and personal development opportunities. We look after our support staff to make sure they receive all the support they need.

  • We offer excellent rates of pay - £8.75 an hour

  • We offer QCF level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care

  • If successful, your appointment will be subject to a fully enhanced DBS Disclosure, cost met by the applicant.
  • Successful applicants will need to attend our induction course (dates to be confirmed upon offer of appointment).
