What is special about this opportunity?

Become a Difference Maker with Pobl and deliver a housing related support service to members of the Gypsies and Traveller Communities of Torfaen, Newport and Blaenau Gwent.

The role will be varied and involve building professional relationships with travelling Gypsy and Travellers occupying authorised / unauthorised / roadside sites and act as a link worker between the sites and local authorities. You will support access to health care and liaise with health professionals to ensure access to health care that meets the needs of Gypsy and Travellers. You will work with local authorities with developing new sites and provide an individually tailored support package to new residents.

We have opportunities for the following posts:

* permanent role at 37 hours per week
* 18.5 hours fixed-term role until end of March 2019

For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

Who are we looking for?

To be a great Support Worker, you don’t always need qualifications. A good understanding of housing related support and welfare benefits or awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be extremely useful in the role.
