Senior Youth and Community Development Officer

Location: Bridgend YMCA

Salary: NJC point 27-28 £24,567 (incremental)

Contract type: Fix Term three-year grant funded

Closing Date: Friday 24th August

Hours: 37 hours per week

Responsible to: The Development Manager

Summary

Bridgend YMCA are recruiting an experienced Senior Youth and Community Development Officer, who has extensive experience of working with Third Sector organization. The candidate will be expected to work as part of a team that will include volunteers and they will be working towards all aspects for the suitability of Bridgend YMCA.

Bridgend YMCA is a Charitable Incorporated Organizations (CIO) and supported by a Board of Trustees. We have recently been successful in attracting three years funding from Tudor Trust and now in a position to recruit staff.

Job Role

To assist the Development Manager in developing new and innovative programs for the YMCA Bridgend, in line with it’s Charitable Objectives and Guiding Principles.

To assume responsibility for designing, developing and implementing youth and community activities that are reflective of local communities identified needs.

To assist the Development Manager in future securing partnerships that will work strategically with YMCA working towards the reduction of risky behaviors and general risk factors, that affect young people within our local communities that will build on existing programs. Work to prepare the YMCA in addressing emerging needs and become service that is fit for purpose. While positioning itself in response to identified needs and collecting area date on deprivation and poverty.
