What is special about this opportunity?

We are looking for Support Workers to work as part of our Team of Support Staff across the South Powys Hub. The Hub consists of a number of projects providing Temporary accommodation and Housing related support. The Support Worker will be based at Cwrt Afon in Brecon which is our Young Persons project providing Housing related support to 16-24 year olds. We also provide a Floating Support and Drop in service across the South Powys Locality working closely with the Local Authority, probation, mental health services and other providers to ensure the best possible support for customers accessing housing related support.

This post is for 24 hours per week.

How can I make a difference?

You will be responsible for all aspects of Housing related support to tenants in our static supported accommodation as well as providing support to floating support and drop in customers across the locality. Liaison with relevant providers throughout the locality is key to ensure the best possible outcome in meeting what matters to our customers and to ensure that they can secure and maintain accommodation, financial control and physical and emotional wellbeing.

Who are we looking for?

Someone who is creative and innovative in your approach to working with the client group to understand What Matters.

A motivated individual with experience of developing and supporting individuals with Housing related Support. You will be confident in building relationships with Housing and other relevant agencies to securing opportunities for our customers.

You will need the skills and abilities to work with and relate to people who are often disadvantaged and marginalised to motivate, empower and enable them to make informed choices and positive changes to their lives in order for them to feel safe and ‘Live their life their way’

You will need to be able to manage your own workload, work effectively alone and as a part of a team

Someone who is willing to travel and visit various services throughout North Powys Hub and surrounding areas.

It is essential that you have use of a car for this role
