Location: Cardiff, MLC
Work Days: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)

Contract: Temporary to cover maternity (12 months+)

We are excited to be offering an opportunity to become a Packaging QA here at Memory Lane Cakes. The successful candidate will be part of the Technical team, undertaking an important role within the business. We are looking for someone that is proactive, conscientious and diligent who will meet the standards required on site.

Purpose of the Role

To carry out QA checks on incoming packaging to meet customer requirements.

To support the Compliance Team including responding to consumer complaints and trending complaint information.

Some of the Role Key Accountabilities (including but not limited to) are:


  • Carrying out pre-defined checks on all batches of packaging delivered to site (CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT)
  • Maintain a packaging reference sample library
  • Manage packaging related non-conformances
  • Coordinate the review of live packaging specifications
  • Carry out packaging traceability audits
  • Carry out audits of stores areas
  • Assist Raw Materials Coordinator in specification management
  • Cover for Raw Materials Coordinator during audits
  • Provision of supplier assurance information
  • Carry out weekly testing of raw materials as per schedule


  • Cover for key functions of Technical Coordinator Role
  • Generate site CPMU date
  • Internal KPI reports
  • External customer reports
  • Support the site traceability team
  • Maintain the Technical Communication board
  • Co-ordinate and support site microbiological testing programs
  • Trending of micro results / report generation
  • Manage purchase orders for the Technical Department.
  • Collate technical invoices and input into the Technical budget, recording anomalies and variances
  • Co-ordinate and support site nutritional testing programs
