Llamau is looking to recruit a Domestic Abuse Support Worker (Early Intervention) 3 Year Fixed term contract

Salary £20,858.00 per annum (£16,686.40 pro rata)

Ref: SWMOON 1 x 28 hours role ( 4 days per week part time) working across 2 areas Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Domestic Abuse Support Worker to support women and their children who have experienced Domestic Abuse. The role involves providing early awareness raising and safety planning to limit the impact of the trauma they have experienced and build their networks and coping strategies for keeping themselves and the children safe for the future. Linking in with all aspects of Llamau Women's Services Domestic Abuse Services and working closely alongside other agencies to ensure support needs are met and risks are managed. These posts will be based within the Flying Start Team in Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr. Llamau Women's Services is an established and supportive team and looks forward to welcoming a new colleague who is committed to supporting women and their children to build on their strengths and achieve positive outcomes.

This post is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010

The hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am - 5pm, working flexibly outside of these hours to meet the needs of the women and children being supported.

The role includes participation in an on call rota which can require attendance at Refuge/ project to support women and staff when emergency issues arise. As a last resort, on call provide shift cover when staff are unable to attend/ complete their shifts and there is no other alternative.
