Main purpose of post:

To be the front runner of a project.  Liaise with other team members in generating and developing a good project plan that is capable of achieving progression criteria with the use of proven methods in the shortest time possible without much expense.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement project plan and execution ensuring proposed solutions (pre-sale) are both saleable and deliverable.
  • Give clear direction and instructions to both team members and stakeholders with regards to external factors to enable them to carry out their duties effectively.
  • Ensure work performed by ‘Delivery’ achieves the required outcome expected by the client.
  • Ensure tasks and activities related to Opportunities are managed in accordance with the Opportunity Management Workflow.
  • Ensure timely progression of project through Engineering and Design.
  • Synchronise raw material and bought out requirements with Procurement.
  • Maintain direct and open interaction with line managers to make sure all resources needed for the project are available and also consider the negotiation of amendments to project plans to achieve best results.
  • Carry out constant evaluation and adjustment within a specific period of time to ensure that both internal and external factors do not suffer.
  • Determine the appropriate time to make advancement on projects and move on to further stages.  Also, acknowledge when certain strategies aren’t effective and implement change of plans.
  • Provide ample notice if it transpires project commitments may not be possible.
  • Create Project Leadership activities in a readable document to communicate to upper Management.
  • Facilitate project review and project hand-off meetings.
  • Assist with the design of the pre-delivery plan and its fine tuning during delivery.
  • Liaise with Distribution to compile the delivery and loading schedules in accordance with the project plan.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Self-motivated and determined.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Thorough and well organised.
  • The ability to work with other key members on a project to come up with goals, objectives and aims of the project.
  • Exhibits good judgement in making decisions that are related to the project.
  • Understands both the technical, financial and professional angles of the project and have the ability to direct team members on the best approaches to take.
  • Exhibits great influence by working with department managers and stakeholders to ensure they are in agreement on project strategies.
  • The ability/willingness to work extended hours as and when required.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Risk Management and Quality Assurance Control.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner.
