Data Analyst

Are you a data analyst with a passion for numbers? If so we have an opportunity for a talented data analyst to join a successful manufacturing company, who have invested over £10M in their South Wales plant, securing over 100 jobs. The business is part of a large global group, and the Swansea facility is a regional centre of excellence for products that are utilised by the rail sector globally. The organisation is investing in its people and are currently recruiting for several key positions, with the goal of achieving double-digit growth over the next three years. Now is an excellent time to join the business as further investments are planned for 2018 and beyond. The culture is supportive with a flat structure and close-knit team working ethos.

As the data analyst, you will work closely with senior members of the commercial team. You will help calculate product margins, analyse macro trends and support the business with pricing queries. Your duties will include:

* Reviewing, reporting and providing suggestions on discounting strategies and contracts.
* Analysing pricing trends against current market conditions for key products and customers.
* Evaluating product margins, updating product margins and advising the business on accurate pricing decisions.
* Monitoring of macro trends, including deep dives into operating markets to understand buying trends and forecasts.
* Producing sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports.
* Management of the master price list.

To be successful in your application for the data analyst position, you will need the following.

* Experience of calculating products costs within a manufacturing environment.
* Ideally a degree in mathematics, economics, business, statistics, finance or accountancy.
* A talent for numeracy and a passion for crunching numbers.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Knowledge of data mining and data modelling.
