The opportunity

Hours: 37 includes college attendance every Wednesday 3-8pm

College: Cardiff & Vale College

Qualification: As part of the Apprenticeship you will have release to Cardiff & Vale College to study a Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles which will provide an excellent entry level qualification for a career in ICT.

ICT Department

The ICT Department at WWH is a place of constant challenge and change. We pride ourselves in working with the very latest technologies and methods to support the business. WWH are a Microsoft based organisation with over 100 Virtual Servers (VMware) and in excess of 500 desktop/Tablet devices. We operate across Wales and remote working is critical using Citrix and the very latest Microsoft Cloud services, extensively using SharePoint Online and MS Dynamics to deliver software applications in the field. We have an extensive Cisco based Network and make use of K2 workflow technologies.

Working directly to the ICT Service Desk Team Leader, the apprentice work primarily with the Service Desk team who are responsible for delivering 1st line support to users. There will, during the apprenticeship, be opportunities to work with the Infrastructure Team (MS Servers, Mitel Telephony and Cisco network equipment, including a very large private Wi-Fi network extending across Wales). Our in-house Development team are engaged on a number of exciting projects using MS Dynamics, SharePoint Online and K2 and there will be an opportunity to work with them as well as the internal software testing team.
