Production Manager
Bridgend

Opportunity to work for a manufacturing organisation who are experiencing consistent growth in their marketplace. They have had growth of around 20%+ year on year recently which has led to them looking to add this new position to the organisation. The role will involve working 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

The production manager will report to an operations manager on site and have responsibility for overseeing manufacturing, production planning, logistics and transport functions as part of the site management team. You will have around 30 staff reporting to you (9 direct reports) and will manage all production KPIs while looking to continuously develop and improve performance within the area.

As the production manager, your duties will include:

* Managing resource levels, performance and development within the production and operations areas including involvement in disciplinary matters as and when required
* Adhering to and developing effective planning systems to ensure customer satisfaction
* Maximising efficiencies onsite and ensure there is continuous improvement of processes
* Contribute to the minimising of material waste
* Work with other senior members of staff to help to develop and maintain management systems and strategies in areas such as quality, health & safety, etc.
* Utilising business systems such as MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications to ensure a smooth process onsite from customer order through to delivery

To be successful in your application for the production manager role, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Experience of working within a manufacturing environment managing a team within a production area
* Experience and knowledge of implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques
* Knowledge and previous involvement in HR related tasks such as disciplinary processes and procedures
* Good knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
* Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate well with staff at all levels within an organisation
* A recognised Health & Safety qualification (such as IOSH Managing Safely) is desirable

In return, the production manager will receive a salary of £32,000 – £35,000 + pension (company contribution of 3%) and an annual company performance related bonus of up to 10%.
