Scarlet Jade are seeking a Qualified Financial Accountant, for a leading Manufacturing Company, you will be responsible for the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities and to ensure that they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.


The Financial Leader has overall management responsibility of the Finance and MIS department including the responsibility of ensuring that all training and development, reporting and all KPIs are met within agreed timelines.

The Financial Leader is also responsible for adhering to the Group's SOPs, Health & Safety, GMP and other regulatory guidelines.

This position has authority for expenditure as per approved authority levels spreadsheet.


Preparation of the annual budget.

Overall responsibility for Financial/Statutory accounts.

Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances.

Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that the company’s policies are followed.

Close financial control of overheads, margins and pricing models, updating where necessary.

Provide key Management Information to facilitate tactical and if required strategic decision making.

Treasury Management including management of working capital, cash flow forecasting and foreign currency exposure.

Provide leadership and direction to the Finance and MIS Teams through regular performance review and KPI setting.

Maintain a strong cost control process/environment within the business.

Monitor working capital reduction programmes.

Identify and lead procurement opportunities.

Develop value stream costing and implement across the business.

Partner with the business to develop a 3 year rolling capital expenditure plan (to support business growth and prioritisation of projects).

To comply with company policies including internal and external Health and Safety and Environmental standards as required.

Act as the main point of contact to external bodies: auditors, HMRC, tax advisors.


Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) with minimum of 3 years PQE.

Minimum 7 years experience in Industry in an accounts environment.

Commercially aware with a strong business acumen.

A clear and consistent career track record to date which shows progression, advancement and development even within an existing role.

Experience in problem solving, investigating and being able to demonstrate excellent communication skills is also essential .

Excellent Excel skills essential - ability to manipulate large volumes of data efficiently and accurately as well as excellent general systems skills including experience of using a major accounting package.

Experience of managing staff within the Finance department.
