The Organisation

Wales & West Housing are one of the leading housing providers in Wales. We operate across 15 local authority areas, providing quality, affordable homes and services to more than 19,000 residents. We are a major Welsh employer, with 400 staff at WWH and 200 staff in our two subsidiary companies, a figure that is growing year on year. We have been established since 1965, and we have grown from our first scheme of 49 flats in Cardiff, to over 11,500 properties across Wales. We have three main office sites; Head Office in Cardiff a North base in Ewloe, and an office in Newcastle Emlyn with the majority based in South Wales. The majority of our staff work remotely out in the communities we support.

The Opportunity

The appetite of the business to embrace change and undergo continual improvements to its systems continues apace. This is a welcomed challenge to the ICT function, and the increase and pace of external technological advancements alongside internal demands has resulted in our requirement for a new role to proactively assist and manage the various ICT projects.

WWH are a Microsoft based organisation with over 100 Virtual Servers (VMware), in excess of 500 desktop/Tablet devices. We operate across Wales and remote working is critical using Citrix and Microsoft Cloud services to deliver application in the field. We have an extensive Cisco based Network.

Working directly to the Head of ICT, the post holder will effectively support the delivery of ICT services across the Group. In doing so, they will possess excellent technical skills coupled with strong communication skills, build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels and external partners. They will be experienced in managing technical staff to monitor and support their development.
