The Organisation

Wales & West Housing are one of the leading housing providers in Wales. We operate across 15 local authority areas, providing quality, affordable homes and services to more than 19,000 residents. We are a major Welsh employer, with 440 staff at WWH and 200 staff in our two subsidiary companies, a figure that is growing year on year. We have been established since 1965, and we have grown from our first scheme of 49 flats in Cardiff, to over 11,500 properties across Wales. We have three main office sites; Head Office in Cardiff a North base in Ewloe, and an office in Newcastle Emlyn with the majority based in South Wales. The majority of our staff work remotely out in the communities we support.

This has been a big year for us at WWH, not least because we were ranked as the top Welsh not-for-profit organisation in the 2017.

Sunday Times Best Companies list and third in the UK, we’ve been in the Top Ten for the last six consecutive years. We are really proud of the fact that our staff love working for us, a lot of this is down to the unique culture we have here at WWH. Our aim is to create a place that everyone wants to work in, using our brand new offices in Cardiff and Ewloe, and creating a working environment where every staff member feels supported and valued. Values are really important to us at WWH, and you will hear us talk a lot about being a ‘value’s led’ organisation and this drives the way we operate and the way we behave.

We pride ourselves on the high quality of the homes we provide and we are ambitious for the future wanting to achieve a significant increase in the number and range of housing projects

We are seeking a Development Officer with recent experience working in a Housing Association Development function, a background in project management, property development, planning or construction will be required. The successful candidate will have good skills in negotiation and report writing.

In this role there will be no shortage of opportunity to take on some really exciting projects from large scale extra care schemes, standard housing to specialist schemes to meet specific needs. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to have an impact and make a real difference.
