We are currently recruiting for a three or experienced Paralegals/Case Handlers to join our Defendant Personal Injury team based in Cardiff.
Using the in-house case management system, you will have the responsibility of effectively running your own caseload of Defendant MOJ and litigated RTA cases, including injury claims, small claims and credit hire disputes. A key part of your role will be to draft and file court documents and manage the procedural steps required in both litigated and pre-litigation claims.
If you have the relevant experience there is an opportunity to specialise in claims where causation and/or Low Velocity Impact (LVI) needs to be raised as an issue.
Your law degree/LPC/CILEX (or equivalent) and previous experience of legal case handling will enable you to work proactively to settle cases in accordance with service level requirements and manage the expectations of the insurer and lay clients.
To enable to you carry out this role effectively it is essential have a good understanding of Defendant and Claimant tactics along with interviewing techniques and experience of running a caseload of RTA personal injury cases and/or low velocity impact matters. To excel in this role you will have a true interest in law and developing as a Defendant case handler. Experience of dealing with credit hire claims and familiarity of using a case management system is desirable.
Although supervised, as an experienced handler you will have the autonomy to progress files to conclusion.
