Our client a leading legal firm in Cardiff city centre have a rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our law library.
Reporting to the Library Information Manager, you will assist in providing the provision of a legal and business enquiry and research service to the Firm.
You will take an active role in responding to any enquiries received and in creating, indexing and updating page’s for the firm’s Intranet.
Other duties will include:
Use the Library Management System to order and catalogue books and journals, maintain subscriptions and standing orders, and manage the loan and return of library stock.
Perform necessary administrative duties, including filing looseleaf updates, circulating periodicals and processing new acquisitions
Maintain the general upkeep of the main and departmental libraries.
Assist with the creation and updating of Intranet pages and the maintenance of the Library and Information team pages.
Assist with individual legal information research training sessions and with group inductions for new starters.
Assist with legal and business information enquiries from users, making use of electronic and printed information resources as appropriate.
Deputise for Library Information Manager as required.
Liaise with lawyers as required to arrange translators and interpreters for legal documents and court work.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a professional services library, ideally law, be exceptionally organised and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience of training and giving presentations would be beneficial but not essential for the role.
A competitive salary of £23000 is available for this role
