Floating Support Worker
Based in Caerphilly, 37 hours per week
Salary: £15,600 pa
We provide high quality housing related support and substance misuse treatment services for vulnerable people 16+, adults and families across South Wales to prevent homelessness and improve people's lives. Through our volunteering, education, employment and training opportunities we aim to raise aspirations and support people to lead independent and positive lives. Service users are at the heart of everything we do and we work a co-production model involving people in all aspects of the business.
What will I do?
Provide Housing/Tenancy Support to enable vulnerable people to sustain their tenancies, change negative behaviour, maintain their health and wellbeing make appropriate choices and become more independent.
As well as encourage the clients to deal with issues that may threaten their tenancy, especially with matters regarding behaviour, substance misuse, health and wellbeing, budgeting skills, benefits and household management.
Liaise with Local Authority Departments, Social Services, Health Services, Community Services and other agencies/service providers.
What skills and experience do I need?
You will have a proven track record of working with vulnerable people and have an excellent understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable people making the transition to independent living. Experience of delivering Housing Support is essential, with also a necessary experience of having worked in partnership with other professionals, agencies and service providers.
You'll require a full driving licence with use of a car for work purposes and car insurance which includes business use.
For this post, you'll require an Enhanced DBS check, for which we'll pay.
