Acorn Recruitment is seeking an Electrical / Mechanical Engineer preferably with an Electrical bias for our market leading client in the building film business and one of the largest recyclers in Europe.

The role will be based in South Wales.

This is a new position which has been created due to an increased workload.

The vacancy would be for 6 months with a view for a permanent position within their busy Maintenance Team.

The hours of work will be 7 x 12 hour day shifts per fortnight, 5 one week and 2 the other week, 07:00hrs til 19:00hrs.

To succeed in your application, you will need to demonstrate experience working in a similar role and industry. Whilst not essential, experience of the Plastics industry and PLC’s would be an advantage.

You will preferably have completed a full apprenticeship (or equivalent) and have a strong knowledge and understanding of health & safety practices.

The ability to be available on call, out of hours is a necessity, as is the need to be flexible in the shifts worked.

The successful candidate will be required to achieve a high standard of workmanship, and he / she must have the ability to fault diagnose successfully.

Familiarisation training will be given in all aspects of the process.
