Relief Project Workers
Based in Caerphilly, Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Newport, and Torfaen

Salary: £8.30 per hour
We provide high quality housing related support and substance misuse treatment services for vulnerable people 16+, adults and families across South Wales to prevent homelessness and improve people's lives. Through our volunteering, education, employment and training opportunities we aim to raise aspirations and support people to lead independent and positive lives. Service users are at the heart of everything we do and we work a co-production model involving people in all aspects of the business.
We have an opportunity for Relief Workers to join us to provide support which will enable service users to develop the key skills to achieve positive progression and to develop the skills to settle in the community. As part of our relief team, you can work days, evenings, weekends or nights, giving you the freedom and flexibility to arrange work around your life.
The role will be varied and will involve providing housing related support to vulnerable people to progress to independent living, sustain their tenancies, change negative behaviour, maintain their health and wellbeing, and make appropriate choices.
As well as encourage the clients to deal with issues that may threaten their progression, especially with matters regarding behaviour, substance misuse, health and wellbeing, budgeting skills, benefits, life skills and household management.
What skills and experience do I need?
To be a great Relief Worker, you don't need previous experience or qualifications. What you do need is energy, enthusiasm, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect.
You need to be reliable because people are depending on you. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.
For this post, you'll require an Enhanced DBS check, for which we'll pay.
