General Maintenance Operative

1. Do you have experience of maintaining machinery, undertaking basic DIY functions using hand and power tools, and have bags of common sense?
2. As a General Maintenance Operative (nights) you will be responsible for the maintenance of the company’s on-site machinery including the oiling and greasing of plant machinery and cleaning the internals of the machines.

Overview of the role:

As a General Maintenance Operative (nights) you will be responsible for the maintenance of the company’s on-site machinery including the oiling and greasing of plant machinery and cleaning the internals of the machines.

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 10.00pm to 6am (nights) 40 hrs.

Salary: £12.12 per hour + £10 shift allowance.

What we’ll need from you:

You must

• have previous experience in general maintenance in a workplace environment.
• have experience in using power and hand tools competently.
• have lots of common sense with a can-do attitude.
• be able to undertake a range of basic DIY tasks.
• have awareness and understanding of Health & safety procedures on an industrial site.
• ideally have experience of using a scissor lift.

What you’ll be doing as a General Maintenance Operative

The main tasks of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Providing general maintenance for the company’s machinery
• Ensure machinery and plant equipment are in good working order.
• Cleaning the internal parts of machines
• Oiling and greasing plant machinery
• Undertaking basic DIY tasks using hand and power tools
• Reporting any issues and faults as they arise
• Using a scissor lift to access machinery (when appropriate)
• Ensure good site housekeeping.
• Ensure Health & safety regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure the company’s environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Any other reasonable tasks as directed by the manager.
