We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with experience in quality assurance and clinical governance to join our team as our new Quality and Clinical Governance Lead.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on all aspects of clinical governance, ensuring effective and sustainable quality assurance and governance systems are in place and embedded across Tŷ Hafan’s Care Services.

The postholder will be directly responsible for reviewing and analysing outputs from audit and risk assessments, and for the creation, oversight, and coordination of quality improvement plans. Working alongside the Care Senior Management team, they will also be responsible for devising and delivering on a robust clinical governance framework that ensures continuous compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, providing assurance to the Executive Team, Board of Trustees and our regulators that all statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.

About you

We are looking for a passionate and organised individual with significant experience in leading on quality improvement initiatives and overseeing clinical governance. The successful candidate should have significant healthcare experience, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams and services to deliver high quality, safe services. As the ideal candidate you will also have:

  • Proven experience in successfully managing teams
  • A background in managing clinical governance, patient safety and quality within health services
  • Experience of managing and ensuring effective risk management
  • A track record of success in shaping and delivering projects, change initiatives and demonstrable service improvements
  • Experience of ensuring compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements and working directly with regulatory bodies
  • Experience of devising and implementing clinical audits and using clinical systems such as care databases.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and incident management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, evidencing gravitas, diplomacy and sensitivity, to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Adept at problem solving, with the ability to respond in an agile manner to sudden and unexpected demands.
  • Great organisational skills with a flexible and can-do approach to be able to respond to changing and diverse work priorities.
