UCH provides children and young people who cannot live at home with a safe, nurturing and fun place to live where they can enjoy and make progress with their education, social activities, friendships and individual interests. Staff are dedicated to ensuring that children in our care grow as individuals and enjoy the best parts of childhood. Our mission is to provide each and every child with their own individual care arrangements which nurtures and encourages their individual potential. We work hard to enable children to establish positive and secure attachments with their home and the staff who care for them.
UCH supports children in crisis and provides a warm, safe and caring environment to enable children to heal from abuse, trauma and neglect. We ensure that children have a lovely place to live, enjoy good food and engage positive childhood activities. We encourage safe and appropriate relationships with adults and peers allowing children to invest their trust wisely.
UCH ensures that there is always a trusted adult close by in whatever activity the child is engaging with. We gradually encourage children to learn how to keep themselves safe whilst taking appropriate and managed risks associated with every day living. Our aim is for children to reach young adulthood with the right skills and knowledge to enable them to live life as a healthy and happy adult.
