The University of Wales Press UWP

We believe passionately in supporting and disseminating scholarship from and about Wales to a global audience. The Press has served Wales and the international academic community since 1922 by publishing scholarly research in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

We share the strong tradition in Wales of bringing education and learning to all people and see it as our role to support all aspects of learning and the lifelong search for academic knowledge and excellence. We play an important role in spreading the understanding of the unique culture, history, language and politics of Wales. Over the past century we have provided a platform for Wales' greatest thinkers, contributing to the building of a modern Wales.

We are uniquely positioned as the only not-for-profit academic press in Wales and with the support of the University of Wales we have been able to stay true to our mission.

We currently publish around 50 new books and magazines a year mainly in the fields of European Studies, Philosophy, Literature, History, Welsh and Celtic Studies. We are also producing books of general interest about Wales as part of our mission to disseminate research and make it accessible to a wider audience.
