DASU

DASU provides professional coordinated and targeted interventions to people experiencing domestic abuse across Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. Our services offer choice to our service users, maximising their safety, and the safety of their families whilst demonstrating outstanding value for money to out funders and commissioners.

We have over 30 years’ experience in delivering specialised and professional services that include Independent Domestic Violence Advocates, Crisis intervention, Outreach and Resettlement, Safe Refuge accommodation, Empowerment and Education programs, Training, Advocacy and Children and Young people services. We provide free, high quality services to women, men and their children who are or have experienced domestic abuse, enabling them to live fear free in our communities, optimising their ability to manage their own safety and wellbeing.

DASU is the only specialist Domestic Abuse service provider in North West Wales to hold the Welsh Women’s Aid Quality Mark. We also are proud to have won both the Welsh and National Go awards in 2020 for Best Third Sector Service.

Our aim is to help abused women, men and children to remain in their own home, where it is safe to do so. Risk assessment, safety planning and a co-ordinated response by all the agencies involved with a family, is essential, in order to achieve this. However a high percentage of our service users have complex issues which often include substance misuse and mental health issues. To ensure the greatest chance of success we work with a range of specialist support agencies to identify and address the whole needs of the individual.

DASU currently operates a number of One Stop Shops across the counties and over 41 refuges. We work in partnership with a range of agencies and third sector partners across North Wales and Nationally, and have a wide range of funders and supporters who enable this essential work to take place.
