Requirements:

  • Time served craftsperson.
  • Able to ensure work is completed to appropriate standards in a timely manner.
  • Ideally will have experience of heavy industry.
  • Must be able to drive motor vehicles.
  • Be able to demonstrate good communication skills.

Main Duties:

  • To work in a safe & methodical manner in accordance with ABP’s H & S & Environmental policies and take an active part in Risk Assessments.
  • To carry out inspection, maintenance and installation work safely in line with current legislation and ABP’s guidelines.
  • Understand and work to Permit to Work Systems.
  • Maintenance of cranes, machinery and equipment, ship’s locks and sluices.
  • Maintenance of ABP’s electrical distribution system, carry out installation to transit sheds, offices, maintain and repair workshop machinery.
  • Inspection, examination and test of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Assist with cargo handling operations on vessel and quay (training provided)
