Assistant Service Manager – Llys Enfys

Objectives of the job:

  • To assist the Service Manager in the management of the service, act as a representative for tenants and create a community where residents maximise their independence whilst receiving the appropriate care and support for their needs.
  • To assist the Service Manager in the day-to-day management and administration of the service.
  • Provide tenants and other service users with a high quality housing service covering rents, allocation and lettings, void management and tenancy management and support.
  • Working remotely at the Scheme, to assist in the hands on management approach with the emphasis on supporting the tenant to live independently. In addition, assist in engaging the service with the local community
  • Communicate with the various agencies that support the tenants.
  • Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures.
  • Develop good communication links/ team work between Property Services and the Care & Support team.
  • Ensure voids are minimised and housing management standards are maintained.
  • To deputise in the absence of the Service Manager as required.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Organisation-wide:

  • To liaise with Property maintenance staff to ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved in all properties and actively participate in redevelopment opportunities.
  • Ensure the service maintains a high profile and excellent reputation within the local area.
  • Attend internal and external meetings professionally representing the Association as required.
  • In common with other roles in the organisation, this role needs to be undertaken with due regard to the Data Protection Act, Equal Opportunities Policy, staff meetings, training and Personal Development.

Functional:

  • Provide housing management services and act as a facilitator to ensure that tenants receive the appropriate services, benefit and advice they require that enable them to maintain their independence.
  • Ensure Health and Safety obligations are met in order to provide a safe environment in accordance with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.
  • Assist in developing policies, procedures and plans that contribute toward the CSHS accreditation.
  • Ensure a fair and consistent approach is taken to working with tenants and other users.

Managerial:

  • To deputise in the management of the Administrator in the absence of the service manager.

Knowledge /Qualifications:

  • Relevant GCSE standard qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience of working with older people within a Housing or Care environment (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Proven working experience of Welfare Benefits.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • High standard of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Able to multi task, work on own initiative and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relations and contribute positively to team work.
  • Ability to make informed decisions quickly in an environment without direct close supervision.
  • Good computer skills, sound working knowledge of computer packages, including excel, word and database packages.
